Police Nab Two Chemist Owners Buying Blood from Secondary School Students

Policemen from the Elere Police Station, Lagos State, have arrested two patent medicine sellers accused of buying blood from secondary school students in the Agege area and selling to a middleman. The Daily Post newspaper reports that the suspects; 23-year-old Olusola Opeyemi, and 35-year-old Adeagbo Olatunji, paid each of the students between N1,000 and N1,500,for the blood which is sold to a 48-year-old middleman, Adetola Kayode for N7,000 per pint. Further investigations by the police revealed that Kayode in turn sold the blood to two men who claimed to be doctors for N11,000 per pint. A teacher at Oluwole High School who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that the incident had been going on for a long time now.
