You Are Running Govt Of Falsehood’ Femi Fani-Kayode Blasts Jonathan
Former
Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has blasted the
government of President Goodluck Jonathan as being run based on
falsehood. He further threw a challenge to the Federal Government for a
live debate to assess the performance of the administration. In a
statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja, the former
minister noted: “Jonathan’s government is a government of lies that is
run and supported by liars and we need to get them out in 2015 in order
to save Nigeria. People just don’t realise how bad things are. There was
a survey done by UNESCO the other day, in which they said that Nigeria
topped the list of nations with children that were out of class because
they ‘lacked access to classrooms’. According to that survey, 10.5
million Nigerian school children “lack access to classrooms” and have to
take lessons in the fields and under trees. Nigeria was followed by
Pakistan who had 5.4 million, Ethiopia with 1.7 million, India with 1.6
million and the Philippines with 1.5 million. Yet we in Nigeria, despite
all our oil wealth and all the money that has accrued to the Federal
Government in the last 5 years, cannot build classrooms for 10.5 million
of our school children. That is a world record and that is Jonathan’s
gift to the Nigerian people. That and the fact that 80 per cent of
Nigerian graduates are now unemployed and that 70 per cent of the
Nigerian people are living below the poverty line and, according to the
U.N., are hungry.” Reacting to the recent comments by Jonathan’s Special
Adviser on Political Matters, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, the former minister
advised the administration to be issue-oriented and be concerned with
issues affecting the lives of Nigerians.
