Angry Governors: Jittery PDP Sets Up National Reconciliation Committee

PDP chair, Bamanga Tukur and his nemesis, Jerry Gana "reconciles" today in Abuja

Jittery about the anger among its governors, the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set up a ‘reconciliation committee’ mostly made up loyalists of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Headed by Seriake Dickson, the governor of Mr. Jonathan’s home state of Bayelsa, the committee has 30 members. On Thursday, it will be inaugurated by the National Chairman of the party in Abuja. The committee will ensure that MR. Dickson spends even more time away from Bayelsa, where citizens already describe him as an Abuja governor.
In a statement, the party said the committee was “in furtherance to the efforts to ensure comprehensive reconciliation among members and interests in the party,” and that it would “harmonize all interests and achieve genuine reconciliation across board.”
The committee was hurriedly put together to appease governors elected on the platform of the party but who are angry with the President. The heavily-independent governors have been having meetings, and asking Iberians to save the democracy.
Some of the governors have openly accused the President of non-performance while others have warned that even if he “wins” the party primaries, it would not guarantee his winning the presidential election.
Membership of the committee is as follows:
